With the weather being unbearably hot and dry, I decided that I was better off trying to get caught up on some rod builds. I have built three in the last few weeks and have a few more to get finished.
The first is an 8 weight for Mike. He is off to chase some ocean fish and wanted something lighter that would cover anything from larger freshwater fish here to smaller salt water fish while on vacation.

The second rod is more of a utility rod that I built for myself. It is an eight and a half foot four piece five weight. I built it just in case I run into wind on some of the high mountain lakes we will fish in Colorado. I even gave it a utilitarian color scheme. It is a fast action blank with a very stiff butt section.

This 8wt is a beauty. There’s nothing else out there like this. Being able to pick and choose the components and pieces makes the rod uniquely mine. And knowing that it was hand-crafted makes it an instant heirloom that I hope my son and his children after him can enjoy for many years.
Shane fishing with a stiff action rod and using caddis,I think the world is coming to an end!
Great job buddy!!! They look awesome. I’ll be shipping mine to your house soon!
