All of you need to understand this: I am a teacher and not a videographer. I enjoy running one of Mike’s cameras, but I am not and probably never will be a professional. I also love to fish and document those trips as best I can. I do that mostly through my writing and my photographs. Some of it is entertaining and some of it is not. I do my best, but I often fail in comparison to the reality of what was experienced.
My last post, “A Good Hatch,” contained only one fish picture. I was trying to capture a few rises and takes on video. I carry a small Fuji camera with limited HD capabilities. If I take a small tripod, the video is mediocre at best. If I try to hold the camera and shoot video, it might make the viewer puke. I was fortunate to capture a few rises and a few takes of some of the fish I caught that day. I did my best to edit the footage and add a little background music. It is far from what you normally see here. Mike is a magician! However, it does give you an idea of the action I was able to experience that day.
Be patient, the video is very amateurish, but it is all I have.

Looks pretty darn good to me!! awesome job for videoing by yourself. They aren’t big, but I bet you had a blast! i bet there were a few “ohh”, “ohh’s” going on too.
Anytime I get to see rising fish, its good enough for me!
Zac- You take what you can get here in Ohio. Any fish on a dry is a good fish. I need to get a better camera for solo trips. I also need to do a better job telling the whole story and not just the rising fish. It is just too hard for me to focus on other things when there are feeding fish in front of me.
I’ve been waiting a week in anticipation to finally be able to watch this and you impressed me Shane. Not easy to do that by yourself and good work with the edits. Can’t wait for the 3-D version!
