I can think of so many cheesy clichés to begin this post, but I don’t want to do that. I don’t want to talk about how time flies or wonder where the year has gone. No shoving time in a bottle for me. Nope- not here. I want to focus on the fact that I seemed to have very little time to fish in this past year. Now don’t get me wrong, some of this was my own doing. In many cases, I didn’t make the time, but whatever the case, it is too late to worry about it now.
It was a good year, but the drought of 2012 greatly affected much of our local fishing. It was a year without a trip to Colorado, very few smallmouth, and no muskie. However, it was still a year with many great highlights and friends.
I had the chance to fish with Mike on fewer occasions than we ever have. (I am not sure if this was a good thing or not; I still have most of my flies!) There were many trips with the Ridenours. A trip with my cousin Zach, the new experience of Tenkara, the rebirth of an old rod, some time with Larry, trips with the kids and the addition of a new member to the Flatlander family. All in all, I think it was a pretty good year for the Flatlander crew, but I am certainly looking forward to the possibilities of 2014.
